Meatless Mondays

Start off the work week by doing something good for your body and the environment!




Meatless Mondays are a way to get more whole or plant based foods into your diet. The benefits of eating less meat include improving heart health, reducing your risk of heart disease and diabetes, as well as reduce your carbon footprint and help preserve environmental resources.

Why Mondays? Starting on a Monday allows you an opportunity to “reset” your week and get back on track after a “not so healthy” weekend.

What can I eat instead of meat? Other sources of protein include beans, legumes, tofu, eggs, dairy products, mushrooms, cooked whole grains.

Experiment with different vegetables and sauces to keep things interesting. You will still get protein from non meat foods as well as vitamins, minerals, fiber and phytochemicals from plants. Making this small change one day a week can benefit your health and may inspire you to eat less meat overall.
